She emphasized that yoga is a lifestyle that helps in achieving inner peace amidst the chaos of modern living.
A guided yoga session was conducted on the college auditorium, where students, staff, and faculty enthusiastically took part in it. Under the guidance of Mr. Prasad Physical education lecturer , participants practiced various asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation. The Lecturer also explained the benefits of each posture, encouraging students to understand the deeper meaning of yoga as a union of mind, body, and soul.
The highlight of the celebration was a short skit and a speech by the students shedding light on the history and significance of Yoga Day as initiated by the United Nations in 2015, following India’s proposal. They reiterated how yoga has its roots in ancient Indian tradition and how it has gained international recognition for its holistic benefits.
The program concluded with a pledge to integrate yoga into daily routines and promote a culture of mindfulness, discipline, and self-awareness. It was indeed a rejuvenating and inspiring day that reminded everyone of the timeless value of yoga in shaping a healthy and harmonious society.
