The Ursuline Franciscan Youths (UFY) for the academic year 2025–26 was officially inaugurated at St. Joseph’s P.U. College with solemnity and joy. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Sr. Anitha E. Dias, the Principal, and Sr. Iren Savitha Martis, the UFY Animator, whose leadership and guidance continue to inspire the student body.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a spiritually enriching journey. Sr. Anitha E. Dias delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of youth being rooted in values, service, and faith. She encouraged the students to live the ideals of St. Angela Merici, embodying simplicity, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility.
Sr. Iren Savitha Martis motivated the students to take active participation in all UFY initiatives, urging them to be the light in their families, society, and the world. The event was further enriched by the presence and encouragement of dedicated lecturers Mr. Anthony Arulappa and Mr. Arona Sohel, who lent their support to the youth movement.
The beautifully decorated blackboard and well-arranged setting created a warm and inspiring atmosphere for the inauguration. The session concluded with the distribution of the UFY handbooks and a collective commitment to uphold the values of the Ursuline Franciscan tradition throughout the year.
