St. Joseph’s PU College, Hunsur proudly hosted its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Meeting 2026, with an overwhelming participation of around 600 parents, making the event a remarkable celebration of partnership, trust, and shared responsibility in shaping the future of our students.
We were honoured to welcome Rev. Sr. Jacintha Pereira, Deputy Secretary, UFES, Mysore Province, as the Chief Guest. We were equally privileged to have Rev. Fr. Sunil Rodrigues, Parish Priest, St. Anthony’s Church, Mudigere, as the Resource Person, whose inspiring and thought-provoking session deeply resonated with everyone present.
In his address, Fr. Sunil Rodrigues shared a powerful message with parents: “Do not worship your children—love them.” He emphasized that true love is not about fulfilling every desire but about guiding children towards a meaningful life. He encouraged parents to help their children understand the sacrifices and challenges they face, so they grow with gratitude, empathy, and responsibility. He also reminded parents that children learn more from what they see than from what they hear, urging them to become role models whose values, actions, and integrity inspire the next generation. By living the values they wish to instill, parents can help their children discover the true meaning of life and become compassionate, responsible individuals.
The programme was presided over by Sr. Anita E. Dias, Principal, St. Joseph’s PU College, Hunsur, who warmly welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of a strong partnership between parents and teachers in nurturing students’ academic excellence, character, and holistic development.
The enthusiastic participation of nearly 600 parents reflected their unwavering commitment to their children’s education and well-being. Their presence strengthened the bond between home and school, reinforcing our shared mission of guiding every student toward excellence in both academics and life.
