Report on Cyber Crime Awareness and Safety Program
A Cyber Crime Awareness and Safety Program was organized in our college on 12 June 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM to create awareness among students about online safety and cyber security. The program was graced by our Principal, Sr. Anita E. Dias, Vice Principal, Sr. Irene Savitha Martis, faculty members, and students.
The resource persons for the program were Sub-Inspector Thimmaraju Nayak, ASI Mahesh, Police Constable Prasanna, and Lady Police Officer Sangeetha. They explained various forms of cyber crimes such as online fraud, phishing, fake links, OTP scams, social media misuse, and cyber bullying. The officers also shared practical safety measures to protect personal information and avoid becoming victims of cyber fraud.
The speakers emphasized the importance of using mobile phones, social media, and online banking services responsibly. Students were advised never to share passwords, OTPs, bank account details, or personal information with unknown persons. They also highlighted the need to report cyber crimes promptly to the concerned authorities.
The session was informative and interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts. The program successfully enhanced awareness about cyber security and encouraged students to become responsible digital citizens.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the police officers for their valuable guidance and contribution to the success of the program.
